Eligibility

As of November 1st 2018 we have undergone an organisational restructuring and will work on referral only basis, unless you are working.

There are certain grants and funds, that people claiming eligible state benefits can access, that some people simply cannot and we will always urge people to pursue these avenues first.

The Main grant for furniture and essential items is the DWP’s Discretionary Assistance Fund (DAF)

This grant is for white goods such as a fridge, cooker and washing machine and also essential home items such as beds, bedding and seating.

Universal Credit is a social security benefit in the United Kingdom introduced in 2013 to replace six means-tested benefits and tax credits:

Income based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Housing Benefit, Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, income based Employment and Support Allowance and Income Support.

You can apply for a DAF if you are a resident in Wales and in receipt of:

Universal Credit
Income Support
Income-based Job-seeker’s Allowance
Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
Pension Credit or Guaranteed Pension Credit
